Grayson's Art Club
Discussion
I was very touched by the final scene a week or two ago with the young man (Alex) who made small figures. The lady next to him (perhaps his mother) explained how lock-down was very difficult for him because it disrupted his routines. Grayson Perry said some nice stuff in response and Alex seemed pleased about the whole conversation. GP did indeed come across very well. I like him a lot and his wife seems nice too.
I find Grayson Perry hugely warming and entertaining to watch.
His series on the different taste of the social classes was really interesting (All In The Best Possible Taste).
I was genuinely impressed at Vic Reeves artwork last week and also how truely bonkers Noel Fielding really is!

The more I have seen of him the more impressed I am.
When Grayson Perry first 'broke through', I must confess I was distracted by the alter ego. The more I have seen and heard, the more I realise they are a very cerebral individual, who is also a great communicator, aside from the evident artistic talent.

He has been pent up inside, unable to immaculately impregnate any bubbly middle-class wives. That testosterone has to go somewhere!Europa1 said:

I had similar feelings, but I think that was, at least some of, the reason behind the alter-ego (in artistic terms). It also got him a lot of press too, which I am sure helped. When Grayson Perry first 'broke through', I must confess I was distracted by the alter ego. If you haven’t seen his previous Channel 4 series, they are really worth a watch (All Man & Best Possible Taste). He has this ability to really draw you in without noticing and also has a touch of the Louis Theroux in the way he pulls stories/emotions out of people without saying much.
