Just caught this earlier this evening - a charming documentary following a young lad on the verge of his 18th birthday, following his great love of soul music. Worth watching on iPlayer: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000jk57/our...

Will be having a look as I am a massive Northern Soul fan.

Anthony is an inspiration to his generation, great to see his passion for Northern Soul. A follow up programme is needed to see how he is coping without Luke, his key worker, they had such a close bond.

Thank you for drawing my attention to this. It really showed the joy that can be found in music and it was lovely to see Anthony find a ‘family’.

Northern is and always has been a massive "underground" movement.

I started going to all nighters in the early 80's and still do Souls nights even now.

If anything , the scene is bigger now. Most Scooter rallies have a huge Soul following.

I'm more involved with the biker scene but started out on scooters and still have 4 of them, but Soul is something I will always love.
I even have wee dances in the house lol. Too sore for drops and spins these days but jeez, back in the day hahaha
