After that embarrasing USA road trip show with his weirdo son, ITVs brown-nosing deification of Walsh continues apace.

He's just a mediocre shiny suited 1980s comic who, like many slebs on downward career trajectory,
was kicked into the wasteland of afternoon quiz shows , now he's in the running as a National Treasure.

Am I missing his appeal ?

Rather unfair...I watched the programme.

He's a very good multi talented entertainer who can turn his hand to comedy, serious acting, presenting, and seems like a nice guy.

Just my 2p.

I don't mind him either can't imagine anyone else presenting The Chase and he can be quite funny sometimes.

Apparently he makes around £3-5m a year from the Chase and his other TV stuff and has his own production company that makes millions too, so he can't be on that much of a downward trejectory.

Never met him but seems to be one of those rare ‘celebs’ that hardly anyone has a bad word for. Just seems like a decent genuine bloke to me, and pretty talented too. Based on that I like him, so there you go!

Has he shagged your wife or something?

I think the OP may be referring to the hour-long special on ITV last night to "honour" Bradley, I have to admit the programme was underwhelming. However, that doesn't mean that Mr Walsh lacks talent. The programme was no doubt intended as a "filler" and showed a lack of effort and commitment by the makers.

Personally, I like the guy. The Chase i9s good entertainment.

Lost interest in Dr. Who years ago, so dunno what he's like in that.

Show me on the doll where he touched you...…………………….

BW seems like a nice genuine guy, pretty funny, there are plenty of other celebs more deserving of your hatred imo :-)

Very average & not a patch on the big names of the past. But is better than most at the moment.
It’s not his fault that there is a dearth of talent around!

What you appear to be missing is all the other strings to his bow.
He's had numerous parts as an actor in TV and film going back years and still does.
He's had a best selling album just a couple of years ago.
He presents the most popular TV quiz show.
Yeh, he's done and dusted.

I don't see anything weird about his son either,in fact it's nice to see a father and son get on so well

Have you met him in person?
I have.
He’s a just a thoroughly normal down to earth bloke which is why he probably comes across as a bit boring to some and yet totally likeable to others.
Gets my vote as there’s no hang ups, no hidden agenda. Seems very genuine and unassuming but also quietly very witty and sharp.

I like him and he certainly adds humour to the Chase...

As for calling his son a "weirdo" that says more about the PH himself imo...yes

Could have made it as a pro footballer if it wasn’t for injuries, talented stand up who worked his way up the ladder, accomplished actor and a best selling album as a singer.

Seems like a genuine nice bloke who has a lot of time for his family too.

The show for his 60th was obviously just filler as material is limited during Covid but accept it as that.

Missed the bit in the OP about ITV pushing him towards National Treasure status. It’s a good point actually.

Hopefully he will be astute enough to body swerve this as it never seems to end well. Robbie Williams and Cheryl Cole from a few years back, more recently Harry Rednapp and to a lesser extent Scarlett Moffat all outstayed their various welcomes very quickly. The likes of Holly Willobooby, Philip Schofield and Amanda Holden all seem to be desperately hoping to be inducted but the public can smell the desperation. The only successful example I can think of is Ant & Dec.

My advice to Bradley Walsh: keep your head down for a bit mate!
