Been binging this on YouTube. Very relaxing TV: field, a digger, old long haired men with strange accents getting excited about broken pottery, Baldrick, and the occasional (and no doubt very deliberate) shot of a young woman archeologist’s cleavage. Nothing much happens, but everyone has a good time. Anyone else addicted ?

I love it. I'll happily sit through and hour knowing I've probably seen it before but not actually remembering any of it or caring one way or another.

Quality tv. I’ve got all 20 series on a NAS, will quite often watch a couple of hours at a time.

Always amuses me thinking about the various haircuts Baldrick went through smile

I find it irritating.

The first two minutes of 'we think there was a Roman fort about here' is OK.
The last 30 seconds where they say 'actually it turned out to be a medieval privy and it looked vaguely like this' can be interesting.

But I tend to fast forward through the bits in between that consist of people making guesses and getting excited.

It seem to be based on the idea that having to dig up remains against a deadline is far more interesting that the history of the site.

I think the Turkdean Roman villa was one of my favourites, when Tony and Mick went up in the helicopter and suddenly saw more and more wall lines in the grass, just going on and on.

Looks like 4od is currently missing series 12 thru 20.

I am a big Helen Geake fan. No low-cut tops for her, just enthusiastic getting-stuck-in loveliness. I think she would be good on a desert island.

Funny watching Francis Pryor steer sites around to being ‘ritual’ spots where Neolithic people worshipped their dead.

Phil ooh-arr Harding and his trowel.

But the star is Mick Aston (RIP). Avuncular, unflappable, always courteous, very knowledgeable, but quiet, not shouty. And that hair!

I liked the way that Time Team could dig some holes in a field, find a bit of old pot, and decide it was proof that Rameses II had a villa in Surrey. And a nice artist's impression to finish it off smile

Great programme.

Don't particularly watch it at the moment but might have to try and watch some again.

It's generally harmless.

But...

Carenza Lewis, about finding food in the Middle Ages on Time Team Live said: "You'd eat beaver if you could get it."

was one of the top ten TV moments of all time.

I love Time Team. Just had a search on Sky and surprised there aren't any episodes currently showing.
