I get the impression many on here are the north side of 40, and for this to happen to a wealthy guy in the US who can afford the best treatment available it's rather humbling regards the fragility of life.

Black Panther was only filmed three/four years ago and he looked in excellent physical condition. Frighting to see this happen to someone who appeared so healthy just a short time ago. He must have been my age when he was diagnosed.

A big shock and I would have thought he was thirty at most in the Black Panther film.

Must also create problems for Marvel as they would have surely wanted to do another Black Panther film after the success of the first.

Extraordinary that he did so much work after his diagnosis, while managing to keep it completely private. Especially in the era of social media.

43 is really much too young.

RIP.

Very sad indeed.

I was listening to CNN this morning when it was announced and it’s clear he was a lovely man as well as a great actor.

Sad news, especially as colon cancer is very survivable if caught early i.e. before it spreads.

If you, or anyone you know, have any of the symptoms then get tested. In fact if you have any of the symptoms insist on a colonoscopy.

Not sure if the Gov post out test kits to people when they turn 50 in the UK (they do here). If they do and you get one then do the test.

My wife had low iron levels and 2 weeks before her 40th she was diagnosed with bowel cancer. Fortunately it hadn’t got out and 3 years on all the scans and tests so far are clear. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

I don’t want to think about how things would have turned out if her GP hadn’t insisted on a colonoscopy.

My wife is currently showing some of the physical symptoms of colon cancer. Blood test has come back as low iron which is not good. We're waiting on a scan appointment but it's taking some time due to Covid.

Fingers crossed for your wife, I had a colonoscopy(so) February this year and my consultant had to refer some of the results to his colleagues. So far it all seems OK but I am scheduled to have a follow up in November.

I try not to think about it to much as I know the process of diagnosis is under way. It might be worth seeing if you can get a private scan I did mine through bupa it was very quick for the first appointment.
