I heard a whisper that classic films such as Zulu and Gone with the Wind are banned and will never be shown again on TV because of this woke nonsense. Is this true? if so then it's ridiculous.

They carry warnings on the various streaming services stating “This film portrays outdated values and beliefs that may offend some viewers” or some such nonsense.
Even Disney are doing it for some of their classic animations.
Aladdin, Jungle Book....even Lady & the Tramp is a bit risqué now apparently, due to the Siamese cats supposedly perpetuating derogatory stereotypes of Asian culture.
You may have noticed too in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk, the Germans are referred to simply as “the enemy”.

''Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn'' sums it up pretty well.

Who are these people that wish to sanction what is, and isn't acceptable, in their opinion, for public consumption?

Shot at Dawn?

They should be!

Both are on Amazon video to rent or buy.

Zulu is on sky cinema at the moment.

I think just warning like. 'propaganda film', would suffice.

The reality, history is written by the victors, we don't have many if any British concentration films or scorched earth films from the same time period as Zulu, which kind of reflects the very biased written history outcome we take as gospel.

If I was more of a conspiracy theorist than I am, I would be perturbed by the push towards us streaming our music/films/TV, even books, and not really owning anything.

Much easier to decide what we are allowed to watch/hear/read when we don't own it.

Which is why I am starting to buy up DVDs of old films I like that may be considered un-PC.

Did the bit in bold make sense in your head when you posted that?

I'm not surprised, as you are one of the regular 'talents' posting on NP&E!

i post in two threads on npe regularly, CV19 related because I am classed as vulnerable so have a hand in the game, so you argument is weak and nonsensical in this context, probably made sense in your head though.

They won't ban them. Too obvious. They will just edit them, like Stalin's photos.

20 years and two different wars between the zulu wars (English and Boers vs zulus) and the second Boer war (English fighting Boers) where concentration camps were used.

Heard a whisper = saw it on facebook,
Woke nonsense = Some people would like it if a few less black people were treated like st
If it's true = I want it to be true

Hate to break it to you but.....
Almost true
One of the BBC’s most popular sitcoms from the 70s and 80s, It Ain’t ‘Alf Hot Mum, is only available on DVD. How D’you feel about that?
