As it says in the title - their output does seem to be equally poor, indeed the seem to have nearly identical "go to" characters (namely shrieking manchild)

I thought Will Ferrell was brilliant as Ron Burgundy ( the first one) but that is it. Nothing Adam Sandler has done appeals.

Sandlers Halloween film was tripe, we turned it off about 1/4 of the way through.

Pretty much this, Will Ferrell had the cast of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back in stitches in the outtakes, and he started strong but is really limited in the roles he plays. Both I think could do better in more serious roles (see Punch Drunk Love for Sandler). Current stuff is tripe though.

Funny People and The Cobbler are very good and show other side to Adam Sandler's acting.
Which Will Ferrel doesn't have, as much as I love The Anchorman, Talladega Nights, Stepbrothers and Blades of Glory, everything since was crap.

Yep, Little Nicky, the Waterboy, Mr Deeds, Anger Management are also very funny. Hardly a bad back catalogue!

Will Farrel, again more funny films than duds in my opinion , possibly at the limit of childishness though

Watch ‘Adam Sandler 100% Fresh’ on Netflix and tell me he’s not talented, original and funny.

Yup, I was surprised too.

Neither are at all bad imo, both have been in films that I've very much enjoyed.

Uncut Gems/Happy Gilmore and Step Brothers. Those two films excuse all the bad ones IMO.

No doubt. The problem is, he decided he wanted to make profitable films rather than good ones.

Red Letter Media came up with a compelling theory that his films are basically just a massive scam:

Will Ferrell plays different roles that are all slightly different. Whether the film itself is any good or not is a personal choice, but at least Ferrell in Talladega Nights is different to Ferrell in Zoolander for example.

Adam Sandler plays Adam Sandler in every f**king film he's ever in. Sandler plays Sandler in The Wedding Singer, and plays Sandler in 50 First Dates, as well as playing Sandler in Big Daddy.

The man is stealing a living from being in films.

Ferrell is good in some stuff- Old School is a particular favourite.

Sandler is distinctly unwatchable.

They have both made some fantastic films that are very funny, but often made terrible films to balance them out.

I think rather than choosing the right film, they have just signed up either for the payday or because the script looked good and it hasn't worked out.

They must be doing something right though with a huge amount of films made. They might not be your cup of tea, but are to plenty of others.

I do like a few of Will Ferrel’s movies, particularly The Other Guys and Step Brothers, but I think you have to be in the mood to watch him.

Adam sandler can be very good, but he has also be very crap. Little Nicky is a firm favourite, and I think click is a really good film.
It’s when he does ste like Jack and Jill that spoil him.

I can’t remember what it’s called but I watched a film he did where he lost his family in 9/11 and I thought it was really well done, a different side to Adam sandler.

Reign over me is also worth watching, as many have said his early stuff was funny but he just plays himself and the joke is worn out.

Will Ferrell was funny in anchorman and Old school but I think he's overrated.

Adam Sandler can actually act and do serious (Uncut Gems), I’ve not seen Ferrell do anything remotely serious, so on that basis Sandler is better. Ferrell can do funny better tho imo.
