Anyone know if this is going to be released in the UK? Talk seems to be its HBO Max in the US, but what about the rest of the world?

16th, in cinema, Boris permitting. And probably on the high seas shortly afterwards.

Signing up for HBO Max via VPN looks like a rather good move for the next 12 months.

Just seen this at my local cinema, and can say that I really enjoyed it. A pretty standard super hero movie but with added 1980's retro goodness and an ace post credits scene.

No chance of seeing it in Tier 4 - so we now wait for it to appear on streaming services - I wonder how long that will take in the UK?

It's not great or as good as the first one.
To say it was supposed to be 1984 there wasn't that much pop culture to reminisce over which was disappointing.
End credit scene was good and Gal looks amazing but apart from that it's not memorable at all.

4/10

Yeah was quite poor, lacked the charm of Marvel's efforts and at 2 and half hours for a pretty basic plot it was pointlessly long.

Shame as the critic reviews seem to be positive.

Gal’s thighs kept me watching. But otherwise what a piece of overrated overlong crap.

You Brits will need a US vpn to hbo max as is not yet released in UK.

I wouldn't under-estimate the thighs though.

Which is odd. I would have expected them to call out the poor story (in comparison to the first film) and some very jarring and poor special effects. I did think at one point the effects might have been deliberately poor to evoke memories of the tv series.
Nothing odd at all about the access media giving something from a big studio a good review, even when its a bit rubbish. In fact, its the norm.

This is why people increasingly don't trust the entertainment media for reviews. You all too often get a worthless 'journalist' who is only concerned about keeping their privileged access to pre-release material and stars and is willing to give sub-par media coming out of powerful studios a pass. Or worse, they have some sort of political axe to grind and review a piece of media on its PC-ness and not its merits as a piece of entertainment.

I also go on a movie forum and virtually all the comments are negative from those who have seen it.

Most who liked the first movie seem to dislike this one.

Why is it soooo hard for Hollywood to make a decent action movie these days?.

The thing that really bothered me most about this film was why was it made, in the grand scheme of the DC universe, it's pointless.

We already had an origin story for her, all this money spent for a filler movie that didn't expand the DC story.
This film could have happened after Justice League and it would have at least made sense, by having it as a complete standalone just made it a wasted opportunity.

Although I like Pedro Pascal, I don't think he was great in this film, I'm not sure if it was how the character he was playing is but he was too OTT and hammed it up every time he was on screen for me

So after the hard lessons of messing up the other DC films the studio distilled them all down, wrote a book of the things not to do and then did them all.

It's a proper turd of a film. As someone said elsewhere written by committee, except they had a whole lot of different committees and they didn't talk to each other.

Though I guess this one can at least sink without trace and apart from the financials it really doesn't matter.
