Youtube recommendations
Discussion
Whats going on with the recommendations page, every single video that gets recommended is either the same old shyte that I have already watched or the same old shyte that I have no intention of watching, its been the same page of videos for months now, as you scroll down the page its still the same watched stuff just from longer ago. There must be billions of videos on Youtube why not suggest something different.

Change your viewing habits & start watching some different shyte then!
I do, I watch things posted on here about cars and what not but the recommends are still stuff from 6 months ago or more, mainly from my subscriptions, I would say 90% of the suggested stuff is watched subscription video's only, the other 10% is stuff I've watched 6 months ago but not subscribed to, literally nothing is new, it sometimes doesn't even show a new subscribed video.
its been like that for a while now.
They have definitely been playing with the algorithm. Alot of it is a drive to recommend more "channel" style videos as in tune in next time, subscribe, like button, notification bell, exactly 10 minute 1 second type crap. As that is where the advert revenue is.
I miss old youtube where it was a collection of random assorted videos of anything, "Content Creators" have ruined it.

Use the three dots and "Not interested" / "Don't recommend channel" for stuff you don't like then.
I've done that with countless videos and even said the reason is I've already watched it but to fill its place it just puts something else I've watched there instead.Gassing Station | TV, Film, Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
