Watched the last series of this a while back and now watching the one which is running at the moment. Daily at 4pm.

Is really interesting to see people taking risks and trying to improve their lives. Good tv.

It's interesting tv but after trying the "life in the sun " myself I'm guessing you work for the program?

One of my guilty pleasures along with A place in the sun and Bargain loving Brits in the sun.
I wasn't expecting there to be a series this year with the pandemic but most seem to have survived which is good news but I wonder how some are managing with little or no income and savings all spent.
What the series does show is how hard you have to work in the hospitality sector. It's not the dream lifestyle many seem to think it's going to be

I wonder if Australians sit at home weekdays at 4pm and watch A new life in the pissing down rain?

Ha. No , probably a damn sight more interesting than crunching numbers in canary wharf/my dining room!

Very well said , we did a financially safe test in Spain and France years ago ! We were very lucky to be able to do this , like a student gap year but without any financial worry .
What we realised is it's a lot of very hard work and financial outlay to get little reward . I know a few people who have dived in and do struggle . All I'll say is test it for a year by renting before you commit !
But to anyone who settles and succeeds , absolute respect, well done as I know what it takes.
