Assuming internet isn't available, what are the ways of getting a film that's stored on your Iphone - onto a TV to watch?

Would be nice to do this when away in our caravan, but often there might not even be a phone signal. So if I downloaded some Netflix films onto my iPhone, what would be needed to view them on a TV?

Chromescast should do it, but might be some oddities of your playing from a app, eg iplayer or iTunes, rather than just playing a video file or a Web page.

If your TV has got a usb port and media player then get a lighting connector to USB memory stick.
Plug it into your phone and save the files/films to the stick, take it out once done and put it into your TV and play.

I do this but I'm on Android so use a usb-c to usb memory stick, works perfect.

Think you need WiFi to use Chromecast etc so might not work.

What about Airplay 2 and Apple Mirroring? Would I need a smart TV with certain apps built in? Or would that need wifi?

Another restriction is we only have room for a 28" TV in the caravan, so perhaps I would need a wired connection using a Lightning Digital AV Adapter to a TV with HDMI.

I see our PS4 has Airplay2, again does that require wifi?

I'm not sure tbh whether you need the Apple TV box or some sort of apple app to use the airplay at the TV's end, but I believe it does it over Bluetooth so no WiFi needed but don't quote me on it.

Tbh if you pick something like this flash drive up its the easiest way and leaves your phone free without rinsing it's battery etc.

Depending if your TV has a usb input on it, the beauty of it is you can take it with you where ever you go and use it on most TV's.

I've used mine lots of times at hotels etc, it's plug and play.

This is what I did - cost about £50 for the adapter (genuine Apple) but I was gifted BT sports with my phone contract so didn’t want to pay for it on my Sky package at £20+ per month. It’s also pretty good for family Zoom or FaceTime calls if you put the phone on or under the tv.

Recent (last couple of years at least) LG TVs support airplay mirroring built in. Works well
