Star Wars: The Bad Batch
Discussion
Anyone else watch this yet, started on Disney+ yesterday with a 70 minute opening episode. I really enjoyed it, some great tie ins to The Clone Wars and Rebels.
It very good the way they're tying everything in, in the first 5 minutes we get to meet a well know character from Rebels, Kanan as a Padawan, right at the point that "Order 66" was issued and he witnessed his Jedi tutor murdered by the Clones she was leading at the time. We get to see Tarkin getting fully on board with the Emperor, get introduced to the Bad Batch and understand why they weren't affected by Order 66. We meet a new Clone child that also seems have the same disfunction as the Bad Batch. We also see the beginnings of a Rebellion.
Overall, I thought it was a great start and could really develop into something excellent that we've come to know and expect from Filoni.

I watched it at the suggestion of my son and enjoyed it.
I've always been a casual Star Wars fan, (I had the toys as a kid, have watched the films at the cinema etc, but I've never read the books or paid any attention to how the different branches of the franchise intermingle), and it was good that it bridged the gap between 'goody' clone troopers and 'baddy' Imperial storm troopers.
We've watched both of the Mandalorian series and are working our way through the seven series of the Clone Wars on Disney Plus, so this is now going to be on our 'to watch' list too.

I know the general story arc in Clone Wars and have watched a number of the so called key episodes but haven’t seen any of the Rebels episodes. Will I be able to follow this?
I expect so, though you may miss some of the references etc, but it should stand alone quite well, if you have D+ though give Clone Wars and Rebels a try, they're both very good.Ash_ said:

They explain characters in the mandalorian and the other upcoming star wars shows like Ahsoka and Ezra and of course flesh out the whole story in details the films can only dream of.

So it’s a cartoon series for the canon geeks, not a watchable proper show for normal adults. Helps if you provide the crucial information folks.
Not sure if I'm a canon geek or not (but probably
), but I do enjoy the cartoon series for their expansion of the Star Wars universe, having been a Star Wars fan my entire life (I was 5 in 1977). As someone above said, the cartoons are great and add some of the best moments in the Star Wars universe. However, depends if you consider anything cartoon like as childish or not, but let's not forget, Star Wars at it's core is a child friendly story. It's just that us adults that have grown up with it, still love it for what it is.Anybody still watching and enjoying Bad Batch?
I'm still enjoying it and liking the introduction of some characters we know and some we don't, how many you'll know depends on how much of Rebels, Clone Wars and Mando you've seen. But I like how it's showing the rise of the Empire and how that effects the Galaxy's citizens as they take a tighter grip on society.
A couple of things I don't like though, Omega's accent being one of them, it is a very, very strong Kiwi accent, not that this is a problem really, but it's noticeably stronger than the Clones accent. I think the actress playing her is an Aussie, so maybe she's inadvertently putting too much Kiwi in to her performance.
But I'm liking the story and the new things it's bringing to the Star Wars Galaxy.
