Anyone remember this programme?

Bit of a long shot but here goes...
It was a documentary over possibly six shows, almost certainly on BBC1. Followed a group of people that were trying to lose weight and charted their progress...
The only two I can remember was a single mum that ran a burger bar in Taunton and a big bloke, possibly called Mervyn, who had a lot to lose, lost most of it but then the last show, it said he had sadly passed.
I thought it might have been called "Fat Friends" but when I Google that, it just comes up with the Kay Mellor show of the same name. It was non-fiction, definitely. Was on from about 9pm, 10pm sort of time.

Was this the one that featured the Hairy Bikers, who were also trying to lose weight? Only a few years ago, if it was that one. I didn't watch all of it so I don't recall any particular details such as the one you mentioned.

It was a guy that used to work with him (now in his 70's) and wasn't initially sure if he was Martyn or Mervyn. He reckoned I looked like him which is how the conversation started. He mentioned the fact he'd lost shed loads of weight (like I had but then put it all back on).

It's not Fat Families, that was on Sky just a few years ago. This was on the Beeb, maybe as long back as the 1990's...
