Just watched all again and absolutely superb
He is right though, probably would be cancelled if on now

I remember watching the first episode, not sure why really, not knowing anything about it and taking about 15 minutes to be sure it wasn't a documentary.
Certainly plenty of my former colleagues (and probably me!) in there in various episodes.
I even had a boss once who did a remarkably Brent-like dance at a work's do!

I disagree it wasn't really hardcore stuff it is pretty ageless really, probably just wouldn't be funny as dated style. He should have stopped before the film though, that was pretty dire.Just watched all again and absolutely superb

We used to watch it in business studies. Bloody loved it.
Stapler in the jelly episode is my favourite.
My brother and his workmate both love The Office, as do I. A few weeks ago my bro kidnapped his mate's stapler off his desk the night before his birthday and did the old jelly trick, there were tears of laughter when he came in to find it on his desk amongst a few banners! Stapler in the jelly episode is my favourite.

Finchy is probably my favourite character, Ralph Ireson just plays him so well. He tweeted the other month that even though he's appeared in Hollywood movies and all sorts of other things, all he still gets when he meets people in the street is "yeah, but have you ever thrown a kettle over a pub?"
I love the episode where they end up in Chasers. Gareth going home with this swinger couple in the motorbike sidecar is a work of genius!

It's often a go-to show...it remains a brilliant piece of comedy.Just watched all again and absolutely superb

The Blockbusters and Dostoevsky parts of the quiz episode in series 1, as well as the aftermath of the quiz itself are some of my favourite moments.
I know I'm opening myself up to criticism here, but I think that Neil was actually more of an ideal boss. He just didn't need to try and and he was balanced when it came to managing staff.
Yes, we're supposed to laugh along with David Brent as the main protagonist, but remember this was supposed to be based on a real life office.
None of his staff particularly liked/respected him or his attitude, and I doubt that in real life anyone would want to work or be able to work with David Brent, not least with Chris Finch about and the very worst of late '90s / early 2000s lad culture they promulgated.
