Wanted by the Japanese authorities and still able to appear in a documentary about himself tells you how narcissistic and the measure of the guy's ego.

Can you blame him.

99.9% conviction rate and a slow judicial process.

He would have spent the rest of his life in jail most likely.

I doubt he's squeaky clean but he was clearly being made a scapegoat.

I do feel sorry for his accomplices (although they took the money and knew the risks). I didn't think the US extradited their own citizens.

Getting public opinion on your side is a strategy in these circumstances.

The "99.9% conviction rate" is only for cases that actually come to trial. Plenty don't get that far. It's more about case selection.

More and more is coming to light regarding Ghosn's activities. Former French cabinet minister (under Sarkozy), current mayor of Paris's 7th Arrondissement and former MEP Rachida Dati has been charged with corruption over 900,000 Euros of 'Lawyers fees' received from Ghosn which prosecutors believe was linked to illegal lobbying:

Ghosn is a snake of a man. The 'scapegoat' cries are part of the smokescreen.
