The War - PBS America

The War Freeview
I know that the Ken Burns documentary on Vietnam has been mentioned on here before, but i want to highlight his latest about the good folks from Mobile, Alabama and the call up to the Pacific and European theatres of the second world war.
His story telling is masterful, his black and white images are striking but this storyteller gets right down to a personal level and the effect of conflict reaching small time America.
Racism is glibly used in contemporary conversation but to see the segregation issues at the time was for me very alarming.
This follows another of his recent documentaries on Country Music.
This guy can do no wrong. Catch it if you can.
Subtle background music ' In the nick of time' by Joshua Bell.
