Spiderman: No Way Home
Discussion
Every screening (every 30 mins) sold out at my local multiplex this evening.
As usual, no trailers or anything for me so I had no idea what was about to happen. It's fair to say I was surprised...more than once! Really enjoyed it, bordering on Ant Man levels of sustained humour which is fine by me.
Two actual loud cheers in my screening, I thought after End Game those sort of moments were many years away, so it was cool that this film generated more than one.
Also, stay for both end credits scenes, two very, very different ones to absorb.

A few cheers in our screening too. My personal whoop was in the apartment near the start before he goes off to seek help.
Oh yes, that was the first cheer in ours, at least two more later and then one in each of the end credits
Only stayed for the first as i was desperate for a wee

Yes, right at the end. Completely different to (as far as I'm aware) any MCU end credit scene that has come before (it's basically a scene then a trailer for another movie).Only stayed for the first as i was desperate for a wee

I think because of the nature of the storyline, they were able to magically retcon stuff to allow those feelings to happen, which was nice and made this film special and not the regular MCU fare. I'd say they have one more trip to that bucket left, the X-Men, there's also the FF as well, but as no-one remembers those films with fondness I doubt we'll get that sort of look-back.Enjoyed it, expected the whole multiverse thing to be a bit grander but still done very well.
I think I liked Garfield's Spidey the best of the 3, Maguire seemed a bit wooden. A lot of cheers when they first appeared and gasps for Daredevil.
The villains didn't seem that threatening either apart from Goblin, Dafoe was great with him.
The rest seemed to get neutralised quite easily.
It's a shame Hardy's Venom get sent back to his universe as would love to see him in this universe, although he leaves a bit of symbiote for some other guy to become Venom.
Weird how they had a trailer at the end for Dr Strange instead of the usual scene, kind of like Back to the Future 2 did for part 3. Hopefully this film will make the multiverse a big feature and the introduction of the new big bad
