Unwatchable misery for me. Have never got past about 15 minutes without feeling like slashing my wrists.
You make that sound like a bad thing.
^^ phew, I’m only half way through porn hub at the moment so I’ll be needing all my blood. Also wrists in optimal condition would be desirable.
Seriously, I know what you mean it can make good telly but for some reason Vera is just too bleak for me. I know a lot of the locations being from that sort of area so should like it really, but just can’t seem to gel with it.

While we know TV loves ancient sleuths , Columbo, Murder She Wrote, Frost, Morse, Miss Marple
in reality coppers do their 30 years and retire at 48 on a fat-arsed pension, no more
gazing at rotting body parts in a ditch for them.
The idea of pension age Vera not being persuaded into retirement by her bosses is a tad ludicrous.

Well, that's another series messed up by wokeism.
Black woman killed by...surprise surprise, a white bloke. That was obvious before the first hour was up.
I spent a week in Northumberland last year, saw hardly any black people, but in TV land they're about one-third of the population and never do anything really bad.

^^ didn’t watch Vera (see comment earlier) but it’s becoming comically easy to spot the baddie hidden in plain sight in any kind of crime drama these days.
If you want to know whodunnit just narrow down your search to any straight, white, male, middle aged suspects. Probably only two or three to choose from, and the smarmiest one who will also happen to live in a swanky architect designed house, he’s your man.
Nick ‘im Carter, then we can get some facking breakfast!

Normally it is the most recognisable actor in the smallest role, so I had my money on the victim's husband as it was that Scouse character actor who's name I don't know.
Also, lots of blatant social distancing positioning in shots, which was glaringly obvious/off putting once you noticed it.

The Sweeny with proper bad language would have been far better than it is without any.
It's really noticeable how they never say f
k or
.
They hardly ever say bloody.
As for Vera - ffs get some proper dialect coaching you 'tard.
Just slipping the occasional 'pet' in doesn't work.
The Sweeney was great without the effing and jeffing, not sure of your point. It's really noticeable how they never say f

My parents got through their lives without me once hearing them call anyone a c**t [ not even me ]
BTW.
Good to see lots of people of colour in each episode. bit out of kilter with the statistics, though.
