To start with, I'm not a technical guy so perhaps the title of the thread isn't exactly correct, so here goes. Because my IP address is in France, I can't watch catch-up TV on my TV, only on the computer screen with my VPN. Someone was explaining to me that there is a way with a second modem to watch catch-up and films streamed from the office to the lounge. We have Sky, and there again we cannot download films etc because of the IP address and the basic films are pretty chronic anyway.

So I ask the PH massive if there is a way of overcoming our problem. Over to you.

What you're describing is a site-to-site VPN, effectively connecting the router in your place in France with the one at home in the UK.

It can be done, but it's a very complex thing for a non-techie to set-up and they will occasionally fail and need maintenance and probably a new router at both ends. It will also be slow as the connection in France will be limited to the upload speed at home.

There are easier ways to do it, assuming your TV in France is a smart TV you can cast from it to the TV, or just use a HDMI lead, if that's a bit too faffy and you don't mind spending a bit on it, then a small PC to use as a multimedia device with a wireless keyboard with a track pad, it a nice solution using the same PC or browser based VPN you're using now.
