OCTOBER 10th: ITV @ 8pm

Bradley Walsh as ‘Pop’ Larkin.

The original will be hard to beat... but will have to give it a go.

AKA: ‘THE LARKINS’....
( Sorry, my mistake) banghead

Not so sure about the woke Charlie, especially due to the era the program is set in.

Yes, but one character had to be.
Couldn’t see it being ‘Ma’ or Mariette ( or any of the kids)
(That would have taken too much explanation).

Apparently., Bradley’s dad has got a bit part too.
( They should have some of the old actors in it...There’s always a fete or something going on)

Never much cared for the original.

Walsh has a talent and a charisma that eludes me.

The new Porridge was unwatchable so they'd probably ruin the Likely Lads too.

There was talk of a Likely Lads remake starring Ant and Dec but thankfully it never got off the ground.

They did one episode - No Hiding Place - and Rodney Bewes had a cameo as a newspaper seller.

How about a combo of "Love Thy Neighbour", "Mind Your Language", The Black and White Minstrel Show and "'Til Death Us do Part"?

You missed out "It Ain't Half Hot Mum"

Mind your language could feature migrants who have just reached the UK by boat to keep it relevant.

A remake of "Curry and Chips" would be the holy grail though. It was pulled for being racist in 1969, can you imagine the outcry today.

Fawlty Towers: The Germans would surely be the ultimate.

"I said, 'No, you mustn't call them n******s, these fellows are w**s'" would go down really well wouldn't it!

Never watched it the first time I had things to do sunday.
Tried it recently on one of those obscure channels. Entertaining enough but scheduled at all the wrong times. Did notice they seem to have a perpetual warm summer filter on everything.
New show will rot peoples brains more as they imagine that could be their lives if only a-z list of grievences.
Result, even less lorry drivers available lol.

It takes people back to the 50s where everyone lived in a beautiful village in Kent in a gorgeous cottage on the edge of the village green. Where it is always summer, you know the local vicar and policeman by name and they play cricket on the green on a Sunday while everybody watching has a lovely cup of tea.

Oh and Mariette was FAF.

And that was the only reason anyone watched it.
My first thought was 'by how far are they going to miss the goal with the casting of Mariette?

Fair enough, Sabrina Bartlett is quite lovely, but they never stood a chance of finding another 22-year-old CZJ.

Missed this the first time round. Found all 3 series on the Q box so have started to watch them.
The wife loves the program. It’s easy watching for sure.
