Yep, that's the one. Apologies for my failing memory but make sure you watch it as its very good, although maybe not with any visiting German relatives you may have.

Perfectly acceptable viewing. High production values for something that's not "Hollywood" - plentiful extras and accurate settings. The flooded village looked real and not CGI - no idea how they did it.

Pedant hat - I can't believe that a Horsa glider in Operation Market Garden would take off with only 3 passengers besides the flight crew. Barmy.

Agree on the Horsa capacity. Also, was surprised that no air cover was available when attacking the causeway. But, compared to 1917, it's a masterpiece!

Indeed. The Luftwaffe were almost non-existent by then and I would have thought a squadron of Typhoons could have sorted out the 88s. But then, it was the Canadians and we Brits had a habit of letting them down. Dieppe? Yet they never moaned.

Talking of air cover, what the heck was that Spit doing in the middle of the tug/glider formation? Another brainwave of the CGI folks.

I guess you would call it "lesser-known" compared to events like Arnhem and the crossing of the Rhine. I doubt it's forgotten to the Canadians. By all accounts it was a pretty nasty and vicious encounter.
