Name that actor....

On PH we have "what's this car?", "what's that tune?" etc etc, so with a little twist, I give you, who's this actor?
He's usually bald (not sure whether that's real or character) and between MrsC and I we seem to think he has an Italian-ish name, he's possibly American, and may have played characters with a strong English accent and also, we think, a Scottish accent.
He looks a *little* like this version of Mark Strong (at a glance, at first we thought it was the mystery man, there's a reasonable likeness):
I'm sure the hive will crack this one quickly but we just can't think of his name!
