Is this rubbish, or very funny?

I'm laughing like a drain, and I'm still not sure.

Yeah i've been enjoying this as well - nice easy hour of TV. I reckon it probably helps if you already like the comics doing the show, but whoever was responsible for setting up the pairings once they got them to agree to the show did a great job as they've worked really well.

Nice to see Edd & Lou teamed up given how competative both of them were on their respective seasons of Taskmaster, and the amount of genuine funny moments with Jess & Jamali just keep piling up every week. Even the pairing of Kerry & Toussaint has worked very well, given that Kerry actually does love camping irl.

I was unsure after the first episode, it seemed a bit stilted and the format creaked in a few places.

I have continued to watch and enjoy it though, it got under my skin somewhat actually. Episode 5 was definitely the best overall so far.

The concept (Taskmaster Outdoors) works fairly well but probably needs a few tweaks as the flow of the episodes is patchy.

It rests heavily on the contestants being consistently funny, as some of the tasks are quite mundane.

Ed and Lou were instantly brilliant together and the stars of the show for me. Dave would do well on getting them together on a new show as a double act.

Jamali and Jess’s relationship has been great to watch, traditional chalk and cheese but has worked really well for both of their personalities. I find Jamali’s non-plussed attitude hilarious.

I found Kerri Godliman on Taskmaster to be highly entertaining and she should have come alive on this but has been absolutely dragged down by her teammate.

Toussaint Douglass - absolutely asleep at the wheel! Given he is the unknown/new comic to probably most of the audience he has been dreadful. Given six hours of ‘free’ screen time to a national audience and all we get is one or two dated ‘Dad’ jokesand a complete lack of energy/enthusiasm. If I was his agent, I would be raging at his wasting of an opportunity.

The other patchy performance is David Mitchell. When he gets into it he shines but he seems a bit lost as a host.

Hopefully it will get a few more series to bed in as a format.

Strangely - I find it strange anyway - this is repeated on BBC2 on Tuesday evening. The first series as well, which I found the best one. Mainly because of Jessica Knappett's exasperation at Jamali Maddix.
