You know, going for wee 10 mins. after you went before, rustly sweetie bags, talking through the boring bits.

Me and my mate cheered when Thelma and Louise went off the deep end, got the evil stares from lots
of stony faced, tear stained Sheilas.

The cinema is dead for me, have enjoyed it far more at home for a few years now.

Getting a blowjob in the backseat, the weirdo his wife and kids sitting next to you keep watching can really spoil the moment.

I used to love the cinema - these days however I find myself being very Victor Meldrewish at behavior so I'll only go for special films

I wish I could take a water pistol, sit at the back and shoot those who keep talking or using their phone. I don't go any more because of the teens who don't give two schitts. If the cinemas want me back, they need to start ejecting those who make life miserable for others.

Reminds me of the theatre critic of the New York Times, writing a review after the opening night of The Diary of Anne Frank, starring Pia Zadora of all people.

"Pia Zadora was so bad in her role as Anne Frank, that when the Nazis burst in at the start of act 2, half the audience shouted "she's in the attic"

I have not enjoyed going to the cinema for over 20 years. People are just rude and inconsiderate. Even when everyone is on their best behavior there will still be annoyances.

I have a basement so put in a 120” screen and a projector. This photo was from no time to die.

My wife and I use it every night as it benefits everything now we can stream in 4K with dolby.

Haven't been to the cinema for years. Last time I went there was a woman sat next to me, feet up on the seat in front, munching away at a packet of crisps, passing loud comment on the film and complaining that she couldn’t see what was happening because she’d forgotten her glasses.

I remember thinking, “That does it, I’m not bringing her again.”

People have always been rude and inconsiderate, we made a 15 skin spliff back when you could smoke in them and passed it along, it had gone about 15 people before we realised our spliff was running free.

Cheeky bds.

Talking in the cinema is the worst. The rustling of wrappers is a bit annoying but its hard to eat stuff without making a noise, whereas its really, really easy to just not talk.

I went to the local multiplex for years and didn't mind it too much. The large queues/crowds would sometimes be a bit annoying, but I never had to wait too long to get my popcorn or whatever. Occasionally some teenagers/chavs would misbehave, and of course the cinema staff were never anywhere to be seen. The funniest thing I saw was a guy smoking. Actually sat on his own in one of the rows near the front, smoking cigarettes all the way through the film and no one said anything. You could smell it and see the cloud of smoke continually rising above him.

But, now that I am 41, I don't have the urge to go to a multiplex anymore, and can't be arsed being around large groups of teenagers every time I go to watch a film.

I have taken to heading out to a lovely little town which has a small traditional cinema. It is absolutely brilliant. It is all staffed by retired locals and volunteers, and they have fully refurbished the place in Art Deco style. They have a fantastic bar, very comfy seats, and spotlessly clean toilets located all over the place, which came in very handy when I had to have a piss last week 2 hours into No Time To Die.

They have local real ales on draught, decent selection of wine, and loads of soft drinks and tea/coffee. If you order a beer or wine you get given a proper pint glass or a wine glass. Ass well as bags of Revels and whatever else you expect, they sell loads of other locally produced treats/chocolates, and have a machine making fresh popcorn. There is never a queue, the staff could not be nicer, and the customers are all polite/well to do types.

As a result I am now going to the cinema more than I have done in years.

When I lived in Canary Wharf we used to have an Everyman cinema right next to our flat.

It was such a different experience to the normal multiplex one, comfortable sofas quiet and polite audience, and a nice introduction to the film at the start from one of the staff.

I don’t much fancy going to the more “normal” ones now.

Same

Might sound all old fart, but I don't get why it needs to be so damn loud too

The noise and enormous screens doesn't add anything to the experience IMO

Why do folk feel the need to eat at the cinema? Dustbin of popcorn and a bucket of coke. Why?

Still enjoy a trip to the flix, but it has to be an early in the day showing where there are no people eating, talking or fingering (hehe) their phones.

Went to see Last Night In Soho the other week on a Monday lunchtime showing and it had two other couples in the entire audience. smile

I went to see Dune at the IMAX in Manchester a couple of weeks ago.

I was pleasantly surprised - despite being a full house, I only recall one person going for a wee and everyone in the place was just engaged in the film. Mind you if someone was talking you’d not have heard them!

Yep, we have a Curzon nearby as well as an Odeon and the difference is night and day. It’s only a quid or two dearer but that’s enough to keep the Chavs in the multiplex whilst we enjoy decent legroom, reclining seats and a decent bar. There’s even a little table by your seat for your beer.

Quite civilised plus they show films that the likes of Odeon would never show.

We have a cine world in a retail park in ely near us - great location, few reasonable places to eat, massive open car park, polite staff, modern building - really enjoy going.

We still have the QLED tv on the wall, ceiling speakers, subwoofers and 7,2 Atmos etc at home - but it's never the same, no matter how much you think it is smile
