A film about her struggle in the 70s and breakthrough when signed by Audi.

I flicked over after watching Bond, just before that bit. I’ve downloaded it to watch in full sometime this week. Some of the spectator footage is nauseating! Looks a great documentary though from the snippet I saw yesterday.

it is a great doc. Watched it last night with the wife, even she held her interest in it all the way through.
A top line driver, I was lucky enough to see her compete on the 83 RAC, but didn't really know her back story.
I'd say it's almost better that she didn't win the title, it makes a better story, but how she managed to get through the Ivory Coast rally, the day after finding out her dad died is true courage.

Fabrizia was cool as well, and both Walter and Ari were a bit embarrassed by their younger selves and comments about lady drivers.

a very good documentary, worth a watch 10/10

I remember in the 80s marshalling in (maybe) Keilder on the RAC and her car broke down near us. We fed her coffee and she let my mate Melvyn's 10 y.o. lad sit in the car and pretend to drive. A lovely lady - very down to earth.

I watched this the other night. I remember Michele Mouton driving in the 70's and 80's and thought it was excellent. Great clips of rallying from that era.

Great programme. Thanks for the heads up.
Can't believe she's a grandma pottering away in her garden with all the trophies in her shed!

Rallying was massive back then wasn't it? Amazing cars, huge (fingerless) crowds, challenging events.
All seems a bit crap these days...

She was my standard retort to troglodytes who claimed 'women can't drive' - she's faster than you, mate.

Legend.

Only had time to watch the first half, but found it a fascinating documentary and she comes across as very grounded. She must have had the skin of a rhino to rise above the brickbats and achieve what she did.

Did I once dream this, or did she put her car into a lake, which promptly sank, and her and her co-driver popped up gasping for breath about 30 seconds later?

Half dreaming - it was Louise Aitken-Walker.,

Searched numerous times for that and just found it.

Also not to be confused with the 83 1000 lakes where the car was on fire and Hannu told her that she should drive it into a Lake. hehe

Thoroughly enjoyed the programme, funny how things have changed and haven' changed.
She changed the perception of women race/rally driver s but there still isn't any females in top class rallying.

No sign of the second husband and mention of a partner on Wiki.

Fabrizia Pons seemed a lovely lady too, still co-driving apparently. Any relation to Sito, Edgar or Axel Pons I wonder?

Fabrizia came across quite impish and funny. It would be interesting to hear her story as well. The co-driver is too often overlooked. Chris Harris' seperate podcasts with Nicky Grist and Rob Reid are quite revealing.

Anybody got a copy of this they wouldn't mind sharing? Not in the UK for a few months, it's not in the usual harbours, but would love to watch it.
