Oh excellent, my life has been bereft of spangly trousers and jazzy jumpers recently.

You are in for a treat, he has expanded his wardrobe to include lurid coloured raincoats.

As a long time fan of the programme my dream is that this time he will go to The Isle of Sheppey in Kent. He's been into Kent loads of times and looked like he'll go there ........... but doesn't. frown

This time he'll finally get there. smile

Well, I enjoyed week 1.

But I think now the use of the term "railway journey" is pushing it somewhat. On the early series, it was mainly about the railways, history of the lines, associated building, etc. And of course his trusty Bradshaw's guide.

But now, he doesn't even bother to carry or even mention his little brown book. He just goes from place A to place B, with the odd shot of him sitting on a choo-choo or exiting a station. The railway might get a brief mention, but that's it.

In the final one of the week, I was hoping he'd visit the Peterhead prison museum, but sadly not.

The one that made me laugh was when he was on a journey through East Sussex and Kent and made a diversion miles north to Biggin Hill airport. Now I think Biggin Hill is great but it was absolutely nowhere near his route and is (locally) well known for not being near any railway stations.

This is great news! I love this show.
I think I've only seen one of the recent episodes, others still on are repeats - the only way I could be sure is that he's now done something to his hair ! - lightly coloured ?
