TalkTV to launch on 25th April 2022
Discussion
GB News last year and now TalkTV imminent. I haven't watched GB News for month's, but will give this a go - though not to watch Piers Morgan...!
Fair to say he divides opinions....!

New channel ‘Talk TV’ on Ch237 Freeview just gone on air,
Currently showing ‘News Desk’ but ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored’ is on from 8pm to 9pm.
Looks to have got off to a smooth start.
You would hope so as basically it’s an evolution of the televised radio they have been doing for a couple of years. Currently showing ‘News Desk’ but ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored’ is on from 8pm to 9pm.

Whereas GBnews just jumped in from nothing and came a cropper
Piers Morgan new show.
Awful! Truly awful.
Love him or loathe him, PM can be watchable even if often for the wrong reasons.
I found last night’s Ep 1 totally cringeworthy. A very American production and self serving, narcissistic self flagellation?
Constant trailers and ‘sneak glimpses’ of something about to be shown? Then repeated after each break again and again.
The Trump interview wasn’t much interviewing, more slight occasional prodding by a mostly sycophantic Morgan. No proper challenge to Trump.
Will watch part 2 this evening but that’s us done I think……
Ps - Mods, if this should be in TV and streaming, feel free to shunt

I've long been a big fan of Talk Radio and I'm pleased that Julia Hartley-Brewer and Mike Graham are just as good on this revamped version. I'm less interested in the evening shows; I like the daytime stuff with the above presenters and Ian Collins.
Talk Radio occupied a special place in my affections because it was just about the only broadcast outlet that countered the official narrative about covid. They had, and will continue to have, interesting and intelligent guests, and I find their output to be a refreshing alternative to the likes of the BBC and ITV.

I'm currently watching Mike Graham and Laura something or other, which seems to consist of two pleasant enough presenters both uncritically spouting right wing talking points. There is no attempt at challenging their statements, and it's all presented as undisputed 'fact'.
Even Jeremy Vines Ch5 show attempts to challenge their commentators viewpoints.
If the rest of the content is like this, then it'll be a nice safe space for the ultras to be indoctrinated with the latest right wing talking points.

i.e. they agree with my already decided viewpoint.Talk Radio occupied a special place in my affections because it was just about the only broadcast outlet that countered the official narrative about covid.
