Ricky Gervais Supernature

I jut watched this. I know he's a bit marmite, But I thought it was very funny, hilarious in parts. At times, it does seem like an exercise in offending as many of a certain type of people as possible though.
That's exactly what he's doing - bit like a southern Frankie Boyle.I like them both. (Saw Politics, I think it was).
I used to like Ricky Gervais, but the more I see of him the less funny I find him.
Stand up was never his forte anyway, and I don't give a toss about him being 'offensive,' but it's almost like he writes jokes intentionally to annoy the 'woke' crowd that comedians like him just seem obsessed with, so they can then go on the defensive on twitter to justify a joke that wasn't very funny in the first place.

Sums it up for me too. I saw him on that tour and it felt forced and a bit flat. Doing 'offensive' stuff is fine, but when you do it absolutely has to be funny and this just wasn't.Stand up was never his forte anyway, and I don't give a toss about him being 'offensive,' but it's almost like he writes jokes intentionally to annoy the 'woke' crowd that comedians like him just seem obsessed with, so they can then go on the defensive on twitter to justify a joke that wasn't very funny in the first place.

I saw him years ago. Bewildering unfunny; tried hard to be provocative, but clearly lacked the balls, talent, or intellect to carry it off.
Bit of a sad old fat tosspot really - its obvious Marchant was the brains behind what little he did that was actually funny.
That's rather over the top.Bit of a sad old fat tosspot really - its obvious Marchant was the brains behind what little he did that was actually funny.
And it's Merchant, not 'Marchant'.

Does he mention how rich he is in this one ?
Yes, several times!I find him funny. He creates some uncomfortable silences. That suggests to me he is hitting the mark not that the humour doesn't land. He is also going to get a lot richer. That seems to upset a lot of people in our rather envious society so I think he will refer to his wealth even more.
I thought it was pretty funny, although nowhere near as good as his last one, which was the best of the Netflix stand-up specials.
Does make me laugh when he says anyone can tell an offensive joke and people who say "you can't say that" are full of crap.
Well yes you can say it if you're a very well known comedian. If I made some of those jokes at work and the wrong person heard me I'd be sacked on the spot.
He recognises his privilege when it suits him.

It was funny but too heavy on the trans stuff, particularly since he already excellently covered all that with Caitlin Jenner in the last one.
I watched it at friends after only having seen a clip pf the trans stuff and was prepared to dislike it. But I actually really liked it. Especially the "ling ling" bit.He did go on about being rich a bit too much though. I assume it was supposed to be part of the humour but it didn't quite get it.
I thought it was half decent, though did feel a bit like he wrote half of it the night before.
Re trans stuff, maybe half of it landed and half of it wasn’t funny enough to rise above the subject and was a bit cringe . I just think if you have to spend significant time explaining why your jokes are funny and not offensive, then perhaps it’s not funny enough to fly. .

Prefer Sadowitz if I want to be offended. He’s brilliant. His close up magic is off the charts.
Had a women next to huff and then say she was leaving then walk out.
I asked her before she went why she came as he’s well known to be a sick sick puppy? She huffed and left anyway.
Ps he outed Saville years ago as a “child bender who only done charity work in case he was found out”
