The Terminal List. Amazon
Discussion
I've watched three episodes of this. It's not the first of its ilk and probably won't be the last. While these productions certainly ham it up, the USA does have a significant non-government military industry which is probably provides a fertile hunting ground for writers for ideas on which to build their storylines.
So I'm slightly perplexed at critics reviews calling it a right wing revenge fantasy. Yeah there's military, guns, wrap around sunglasses and so on, as there would be in such a story, but if you're against the gist of the story - little guy who is caught up in some sinister thing effected by shadowy organisations and gets justice for those wronged - then you must support the "baddies"....

I'm only on episode 3 and still not 100% invested in it
Current thought is that his brain 'tumour' might be some sort of implant and it gets a bit Jason Bourney (IIRC one of the shadowy organisations has a brainy/bellum type name?)
I just finished episode 4 and that bit's sort of explained. So stick with it...!Current thought is that his brain 'tumour' might be some sort of implant and it gets a bit Jason Bourney (IIRC one of the shadowy organisations has a brainy/bellum type name?)
I really enjoyed this show, it's ridiculous of course but there are some great fight and action scenes. I also thought Chris Pratt was great in the lead role... Surprised it has received such a critical panning, but looking at the IMDB user reviews it seems to be one of those cases where the critics hate it and the people love it. As a previous poster has mentioned i'd imagine it's more to do with the right wing nature of the source novel and thus the perceived message of the show - If you watch it as an old fashioned piece of action revenge fluff then there's plenty to enjoy.
Surprised this thread never got much attention. I thought the Terminal List was amazing. Best TV series I had seen in a long time.
Anyway the prequel series is out next month. Dark Wolf. Focuses more on Taylor Kitsch's character. Trailer here:
