Could this actually end up being a good D&D film?

Got to be honest the trailer looks promising...

If I was being picky (which I am) there is nearly as much background for D&D as there is for Marvel and I really don't understand why they don't 'mine' that...

Could be fun. Quite interested to see a few more trailers, at any rate…

D&D has an abundance of riches to mine when it comes to setting, plot and characters.

This is Uncharted/Oceans 11 with Game Of Thrones CGI, Captain Kirk, Letty Ortiz and and the Duke from Bridgerton. I’m not talking about the actors either, as they appear to be playing the exact same characters.

The only D&D elements are the Owlbear and the Mimic.

It looks like it could be a fun way to pass a couple of hours, but that is not D&D.

It’s only D&D if it’s a trilogy where the first film is all about creating the characters, in the second film they go into an adventure and start improving and learning new skills……

The third film never actually happens because the gods controlling their behaviour mysteriously leaven university and never see each other again.
