I thought Fast X was going to be the last one anyway?

The first one should have been the last one

This. Ropey acting, loose storyline and embarrassing continuity issues made it unwatchable for me.

Didn’t take long for an “anything I don’t like shouldn’t exist” style comment!

Unlikely to kill the series in isolation. They're at the size now where if they wanted to use the house and had issues with the locals they could just build a set and green screen the rest.

I like the series. It's not realistic and it's definitely in the Gone in 60 seconds tier of car movies but they're entertaining.

Thought it had long moved away from street racing to terrible cgi heist movies. Stopped watching after Paul’s death. It’s also where they should have ended the series.

First one is my quirky pleasure though.

OP's only very loosely referencing the film series as it's just yet another tenuous way for them to get another thread on the go related to their apparent anti ICE car, ban anything & everything to do with them viewpoint - in this case about how it's great that people would have their cars impounded, crushed, etc, if they go to non authorised street meetings / car shows in the USA.

They have form on other threads for similar stirring posts, which nearly always get the desired response from the usual protagonists on here.

'Tragedy comes just hours after crowd of protesters turn up to similar Fast & Furious-inspired meet in LA'

I'm fairly certain, and don't quote me, but I think The F&F was inspired by street racing, not the other way round as implied in the headline.

Again, I'm not certain, but I believe cars existed before the turn of the Millennium.
Yep and if they want to start down that road then maybe they should start looking at Hollywood and their predilection with pumping out product containing gun violence, revenge.....

Do you blame explicit music and video games for youth violence as well?

The majority of the stunts are done for real, see some of the featurettes of the previous films.
