Pfffft, you'd think they would get the helmets correct.

Look amazing, this is the first film I have seen advertised on Netflix that I am genuinely excited about. Not sure my girlfriend will be impressed, but payback for all the Melissa McCarthy and Rebel Wilson "comedies" I am forced to watch.

A most amazing film, very worthy of its Oscars.

1917 was the Roy of the Rovers version of the First WW. This is the harsh reality, especially when morons are promoted to the highest ranks. Taking the tunics from dead soldiers and repairing them to give to a new recruit is as low as any war could possibly get, and this scene is even before the opening credits.

A must watch for anyone with access to Netflix, probably their greatest contribution to cinema to date.

Agreed. Got around to watching this last night as it happens.

Refreshing to see things from a German soldiers perspective, but the story is much the same, war is horrendous and no-one wins, but the grunts definitely lose whilst Generals in their ivory Towers send them to death with impunity.

Hightly recommended.
