I have to say that this looks good (having decent source material is a huge help I guess!)

I was just about to start this thread. Probably the best sci fi book I've read, so I'm both very excited and very nervous about this. How they're going to film the time-shift bits I have no idea, and I'm a little concerned from the trailer they're just going to turn it into an incomprehensible action thriller like Tenet instead, but fingers crossed.

Well, 2 episodes in and I'm pretty pleased with it so far. I have no idea how well people who haven't read the book will be keeping up, but it does seem to make more of an effort to explain stuff than the book did.

I've enjoyed the first 2 episodes, and had no difficulty understanding any of it or keeping track of things. Not familiar at all with the source material - the first I knew of anything was the trailer for the TV show a few months back.

First episode in, enjoyed it. Good acting and I found the episode exciting, I’m in.

Watched the first episode last night. Very good I thought.

I picked up the book by chance earlier this year and found it enjoyable but thought it would never get made into a film or TV show. Glad it has been. Looking forward to the rest, if it keeps up with the initial high quality.

Watched all three so far and am enjoying it, although some of it is a little hard to follow.

Good stuff. smile

I must admit, I'd never come across the books, and only looked at this due to a collegues recommendation.

I'm two episodes in and absolutely loving it. Great cast, premise and visuals. Can't wait to see how it unfolds. Then I'll probably go read the books...

Gibson is one of the greatest authors of all time, He (arguably) invented the fictional world that we enjoy watching, and this show is glorious.

No it's not that true to the book but it captures the essence perfectly and for the first time in forever I'm waiting for the next episode.

It's a shame Jacqueline Pearce isn't still alive

Really enjoying it so far. Departing from the book slightly now but still very interested to see where it goes.

As I said in the Amazon prime thread, as it feels like they're progressing through the book's main arc relatively quickly, I do hope they can make a decent long-lasting story to keep the quality up for a few seasons.

I just heard that Westworld has been cancelled so I hope this doesn't fall down in the same way.

How good is Lowbeer? Not at all what I pictured from reading the book - instead much, much better.

I actually thought the opposite. One of my favourite characters in the book, seemed a bit robotic to me but hopefully she'll grow into it.

Still enjoying this although I'm really not sure what's going on half the time.

Lowbeer is growing on me, and that was a good episode.

I'm not really feeling the sense of gradual escalation I remember from the book. I thought the hitman was pleasantly scary, but going from a special forces team with invisible cars to a single grey haired man with a knife isn't escalation.

I don't know, he was pretty effective with that knife! I found that scene very hard to watch, just really brutal violence.

If someone would be kind enough to explain what happened in episode 8 I would be grateful.

It's been a great series but I feel like I need to watch it all again.
