Anyone know what kit they are using for the helicopter links covering the various parts of the Queens death coverage? They really are dreadful for such a once in a lifetime event.

I guess it's something like the Live U kit using the mobile phone network but it's not working at all well.

I posted yesterday about this, and it's not just the chopper cameras, some cameras on the ground outside Buck Pal are worse than if filmed on a 15yr old mobile phone, completely blurred and pixelated. Someone suggested it was because I was viewing via Sky Q and their satellite links.

I'd guess they're using the local cell network, and due to the number of clients in the crowds the service isn't coping? Hopefully as well as live streaming they are keeping a local copy.

I’m watching via the BBC webpage as I’m on holiday in the US and around 50% of the helicopter coverage of the King’s trip from Edinburgh airport to Holyrood was poor quality, which I found surprising.

As there are so many transmission sites I have a suspicion that many outside companies are being used . Many that are not normally used by the BBC . Add in to the mix the fact that everything is being done at very short notice.
