Tv show about people getting scammed.
Unbelievable.
Woman today thinks she’s in touch with actor Gerrard Butler, who needs money for his charity work.
Must remain secret as he doesn’t want the press to know of his charity work….
Gives ‘Gerrard’ up to £350,000. He even pressurises her to sell her house.
All done on line. She never meets him obviously.
Of course it’s not him. Money disappears.
How do people, especially middle aged women, get so desperately alone and vulnerable, that they can fall for these hugely dubious stories?
It’s easy to say they are stupid. But they are so alone they are so vulnerable. They fall in love with someone they never meet and it’s all on email and IMs.
