Seem the 1st episode, enjoyed it.

I liked her earlier series set in the Cotswolds too.

There’s a thread on Mumsnet With the same name… Is this the serialised TV version? biggrin

We finished this in one sitting, it was fantastically funny and some good twists. The Son in it is brilliant too.

Watched the first one last night, almost didn't as she really grates on me on Never Mind the Buzzcocks. Enjoyed it much more than expected and looking forward to where it's going.

Haven't seen Buzzcocks in years but can imagine due to the format a lot of people could come across as grating.

I would recommend This Country though.

It's very funny, and if you've ever lived in an English village you can relate to it more as so much of the humour is so true. hehe

We lived out in the country for a few years and things like the scarecrow competition were just too funny. laugh

I love Daisy May Cooper, but I would agree on Buzzcocks she was so over the top it was painful.

Yes- absolutely loved This Country. The shouted conversations with her mum (also played by DMC) upstairs used to crack me up, along with all the 90s references.

Seems to have toned it down a bit though on the current series of Buzzcocks.

This Country is a hidden gem, I lived in that exact kind of village with lots of authority housing too and it was so on point.

It's named after that exact thread apparently, with the assumption that that is where she's sometimes posting on her mobile.
Really enjoyed it, especially the way it played out.

Also loved This Country, she also did a series earlier this year called The Witchfinder, that's well worth a watch to

I watched the first one lastnight (along with the whole series of Stuck, Morgana Robinson and Dylan Moran as a couple, it's a short series, 5x 15 minute episodes, iPlayer played them in the wrong order and I didn't realise it started 5 without playing 3 and 4, anyway, I got the gist of it and still liked it)

AIBU set a few things up for the series, it will be interesting to see where it goes. The premise of the dead partner and meeting a new friend reminded me of Dead To Me a bit, but apart from that this looks different.

Really enjoying this.

Never really ‘got’ DMC, didn’t really gel with This Country but she is really good in this.

Like the mix of comedy with that hint of darkness, it reminds me of watching the first series of Fleabag - similar undercurrents of the slow reveal of what happened.

Ollie is a great character, really well played smile
