Sorry to hear about @Carfection closing. Their videos were of an exceptionally high calibre. I can well relate to the tricky decisions between trying to make TV quality content, versus just shooting from the hip and chasing the algorithm. YouTube is a complex beast.

Odd if true, not long hit a million subs and seems to still be pulling in tens, sometime hundreds, of thousands of view per vid. I guess the numbers just didn’t stack up for CNET.

If true I do hope Henry Catchpole has been snapped up by Netflix or something.

Update: Looks like Henry is off to Hagerty. Not sure if him leaving is why it is closing or if it closing explains his move but either way hopefully he should continue to make great content. Sorry for others that made the channel who may not find it so easy to jump ship.

That's a shame - I really enjoyed the channel.

A shame, followed it since Xcar days.

I never quite understood what was in it for them though.
Not flogging a magazine, or insurance or whatever, not chasing a subscription model like Motortrend.

Revenue share from the 'pre-roll' advertising. It's why Harry's have so many ads.

That's a real shame. Top quality videos with people in cars who know what driving is about and able to convey the love and joy of it. More than just some silly drag race, doughnuts and silly gurning at the camera like some others.

I’d have happily paid a patreon, or similar sub for their content. What a shame.

Henry has already put out a video with Hagerty, with equally high standards. It went up mid-week featuring the GT3 RS.
Hopefully the rest of the team find roles they're happy in. They put out great content through the years.
