Low budget horror/chiller gems...
Discussion
I have a weakness for low budget horror films. Can't help it. Yes, the acting is suspect, and the effects can be naff, but it's a bit of a guilty pleasure of late.
There are some well known ones; the original Blair Witch, Creep (the one with the weird fella who wants someone to film him), but there are many that go unnoticed.
I've just finished 'Man Vs.', which is quite hard to get hold of for some reason. It's not even on the torrent sites, but it is on cinema HD. Cracking little Predator-esque film, along the lines of 'Survivorman'. Production value is decent, apart from the few seconds you see the 'monster'.
'Exists' is a Bigfoot film. There aren't many decent ones, but this is definitely a gem. Even the large footed chap is done well.
'Willow Creek'. Another Bigfoot film, but this one you see virtually nothing of it, and it's for the better. It's a found footage style film from the view of a couple camping. It's mostly tension and your imagination doing the work.
'The Dlyatnov Pass Incident' is a found footage about student filmmakers doing a documentary of it. Another good one that ramps up, with a very interesting finale.
'The Frankenstein Theory' is another found footage film, (I may have a thing for those too), about more people documenting a potential theory... Again, a great finale with excellent ramping.
The last one I will bore you of is a bit of a classic, that started found footage... 'The McPherson Tape'. The lowest of budget, but genuinely one of the best. It was remade a decade later as 'UFO abduction, but nowhere near as good.
So, any more to add??
