Hi all, what are some of your favourite obscure or alternative Christmas Films outside of all the usuals?

A few seasonal favourites for me are The Ice Harvest starring John Cusack and Billy Bob Thornton, Krampus and Rare Exports. Black Christmas and Lethal Weapon are also worth a shout. There is also a pretty decent film called The Night Before starring Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt that flew under the radar when it came out in 2015, which has a very good chummy Christmas vibe.

'Scrooge - A Christmas Carol' written, directed and starring Stewart Brennan.

An Xmas staple in our home, it's knuckle-bightingly awful. Complete and utter, amateur level rubbish.

However, to be fair, Brennan got the film made and he puts everything into it.

So much so that I follow him on Instagram and complimented him on making the film. He was over the moon with that.

A thoroughly decent bloke who managed to get his film made.

But, don't come running to me if you don't make it to the end.

I thought the thread was going to be about Christmas films, not films at Christmas.

I watched Blackadder's Christmas Carol for the first time the other night! No idea how I've missed it previously, but it was obviously great with a cameo from Robbie Coltrane.

A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas.

It's not as good as the previous 2 films they did, but still funny enough considering it was a Christmas special.

Just looked that up and it sounds interesting, similar style to the current film Violent Night
