Mayflies (BBC Drama)
Discussion
I agree a really top drawer (as we used to get from the BBC) drama. I don’t know if this marks a return to decent, serious drama by the BBC, but you can only hope. Given they are also showing Vienna Blood on BBC2 it could be a harbinger of good things to come in 2023. 👍🏻
I watched both episodes and thought it was really well written and acted, having just been given the all clear after a few months of chemo I could relate to a lot of the emotions shown in it and was beautifully handled. I lost a good friend to oesophegal cancer nearly 20 years ago at 50 and this story brought back a lot of memories of seeing his decline.
Earlier this year I ended up in the emergency resus room at my local hospital and spent a couple of weeks on a ward where the chemo was started, as soon as I got home I updated my will and created LPAs for my sister and nephew should the worst happen although thankfully it never looked like Switzerland was something I needed to discuss.

I'll need to go back and watch this - I only had one eye on it when it was on.
I was trying to place the Ayrshire locations used. Also, House for an Art Lover as the location for the wedding ?
Agree on the latter.I was trying to place the Ayrshire locations used. Also, House for an Art Lover as the location for the wedding ?
I think the Ayrshire locations are a composite but I don't know the area well enough.
Another whole hearted endorsement here. Wonderful script - witty, concise and relevant. Beautifully acted - I was surprised how good Martin Compston was. Brought me to tears several times, yet a genuine sense of warmth and humanity in the storyline.
I kept thinking - if I was in Noodles' shoes, what would I do?

I agree that it makes you consider your actions. No small feat.I kept thinking - if I was in Noodles' shoes, what would I do?
It could be a way to get some of these debates kicking off. It's needed.
