About the guy in the 90s that faked being a teenager again and went back to his old secondary school to study on a quest to get into medical school. His fake name might ring a bell for some.

Was one of the most thought provoking things I've seen in ages. eg What made him drop out of medical school first time around? Why was so smart a fella so obsessed with following that course when it looks like he could have been a success doing other things? Why did he go back to his old school rather than another one and why does he still live in the same town now? Why would he not appear on the show even though he is shown in recent interviews and in the video of the school show? What was behind the "mind control" claim?

On BBC2 again tonight, by the way.

Fair point - the interviews with him were not up to date. It's just that they took place after it was over and it doesn't sound like he's exactly in hiding now.

Cheers. Reminds me a bit of Syd Barrett (Pink Floyd). He went back to live with his mother and kept himself to himself. He wasn't by any means a recluse though. Anyone that wanted to know here he lived could find out.

It is odd to read what he thinks of the film because the words spoken by him in it sound like something that was recorded specifically for the film. And whilst I know nothing about film making, I'd be surprised if such a substantial part of a film can be against the wishes of the person speaking in it.

I'm interested in his book but the only copy I can find is £30.

Flicking through the channels I just thought it was one of those spoof real/actual/fake things.
Im guessing there are quite a few people around like this pretending to be a lot younger.All those 15stone 12 year olds and that. Im just laughing about when the are an old crock and cant collect a pension yet due to the tissue of lies. But I guess they would be welded to benefits by then.

There was a fairly big article about the programme and the maker in the Herald; he interviewed the loony but he refused to appear on camera.
