24 Hours in A & E

Anyone catch this weeks episode? (Series 30 - episode 1) Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham.
Kirsty who injured her ankle on a charity fun run, jumping off an inflatable.
Blimey! I found myself looking away from the telly at one point, and they kept showing it!
Find it on catch-up, NSFW, if squeamish or whilst eating!

Couldn't believe how easy it was popped back into place by the trauma guy.
Compound fractures are pretty grim. My daughter fell off a horse when she was little and her humerus made a bid for freedom out the side of her arm. The surgeon who fixed it reminded me of Lord Flashheart from Blackadder, never seen someone so confident in their own ability. It missed every nerve and artery amazingly.
Anyway makes mental note to not enter any fun runs that involve inflatables.

I've watched 24 Hrs in A&E quite a lot and it fair took me by surprise. When they first showed it I genuinely thought the medic was just holding a severed foot in their hand. Ironic that her job was in restraint training when you saw the thump she gave one of the medics. As one of the nurses and a PHer has just said, I literally don't understand how she could wiggle her toes straight afterwards. I mean, how were they joined to the rest of her?
The old man that died was a sad story. My Dad died a year or so ago after having Alzheimers for a few years. Seeing the doctor talk to the wife about him right next to him and him then asking her what the doctor had just said was heart-breaking
