Just re-watched this and after doing a quick search, couldn’t find any mention of it on here.

A short 25 minute film set in the days of Group B rallying starring Richard Madden(who most will know from Game of Thrones).

It may not be for everyone and don’t expect loads of rally action, but I really enjoyed it as piece that shows the feelings of anxiety experienced when getting back in the seat after being involved in bad crash.

Good film - I'd love a decent Group B full length feature along those lines.

Period accuracy was a little off in places indeed

This came up on my suggested videos on Youtube and I watched it to other day.

Anyone know the backstory or purpose of the film?

Yeah, that’s what made me watch it again, I’d completely forgotten about it til it showed up on my YouTube recommendations.

Bloody impressive if that’s the case!! Some inaccuracies as mentioned, but getting that cast and several Group B cars alongside its cinematography, script, production, etc to make a great short is outstanding as a student project.

Agree that it would be great to see a good Group B feature film (or even a Group N one from the glory days of McRae, Burns, Sainz, Vatanen, Makkinen, etc), with so many motorsport films over the past few years, I’m surprised that the WRC has been neglected.

If you read the description section of the video on YouTube it will give you more info.

As for the cast, It was way before Richard Madden was famous so expect he was just glad of the work. I’d love it if someone in an interview just randomly asked him if he’s ever driven a 6R4.

Hesitated at watching this over the past few few months but PHers helped change my mind.

Wasn't expecting much but was really impressed by this especially with some of the attention to detail e.g. interacting with the timekeeper and radio check. Turns out the writer and director was a former rally driver and is now a TV director.

Loved this short film. I am so lucky to have lived through this era and watched them in real life. It was an amazing and dangerous period in motorsport history that I will never ever forget. These drivers were so incredibly talented and brave.
