Brilliant in Mad Max and Lethal Weapon series, now considered a very good director. Used to like a drink and its considered he served his time as a persona non grata amongst the Hollywood elite after a couple of rants. Hes also nearly 70, so if you think about it his days as an action star might be numbered.

"A couple of rants" is a PH level undersell of what he actually said/did. Bravo! Was in good films but I never warmed to him as a persona in them. Once he got blacklisted he stepped up a gear and made some good films including that Jesus lust for glory one and apocalypto which does seem to push catholic saviour narrative in Americas rather that genocide and slavery which is what seems to be the case.

Horrible bloke. Why would anyone employ him at all. I would never pay to watch a film with him in it.
to be fair that does seem to apply to quite a lot of actors (and, indeed, musicians and sportspeople). I guess one of the questions is if you can (or even should ) divorce the artist from the art...Gassing Station | TV, Film, Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
