Is it me or has he lowered the bar on the work he gets?
Hasn’t made a decent movie for a few years. Bruce Willis went down the same route but that’s because it’s obvious as to why he did

People stopped working and didn't want to associate with him after he turned out to be an antisemitic & racist prick.

Brilliant in Mad Max and Lethal Weapon series, now considered a very good director. Used to like a drink and its considered he served his time as a persona non grata amongst the Hollywood elite after a couple of rants. Hes also nearly 70, so if you think about it his days as an action star might be numbered.

As Apocalypto was rather good I thought he'd move more into directing.

"A couple of rants" is a PH level undersell of what he actually said/did. Bravo!

Was in good films but I never warmed to him as a persona in them. Once he got blacklisted he stepped up a gear and made some good films including that Jesus lust for glory one and apocalypto which does seem to push catholic saviour narrative in Americas rather that genocide and slavery which is what seems to be the case.

John Cuzak and Orlando Bloom are 2 more that seem to have been sidelined as well. Straight to video ste from both the last 10 years or so.

To be fair, Orlando Bloom doesn’t have a lot of presence or range as an actor. I remember thinking he made quite a convincing elf til i realised that’s his actual personality.

Horrible bloke. Why would anyone employ him at all. I would never pay to watch a film with him in it.

No undersell chum, thread concerns his acting, or recent lack thereof.

to be fair that does seem to apply to quite a lot of actors (and, indeed, musicians and sportspeople). I guess one of the questions is if you can (or even should ) divorce the artist from the art...

He's quite good in Carnival Row, where he plays a gruff copper.
