What happened to Rick and Morty?

I've tried googling various things but can't find much solid info.

It seemed to be on fire up until the end of season 4. Season 5 took a while to come out. They announced 70 more episodes. Obviously we had the pandemic, but then it's been a few years and nothing has happened since.

One of the creative team, the one who voices Rik, turned out to be an awful POS so he was fired. They're still restructuring I think after his departure.

Essentially the show is undergoing a mass overhaul following the sacking of Justin Roiland.

The same search terms will also bring up the news reports that cover the arrest / charge reports, information from a number of old sealed reports / allegations, and the subsequent dropping of the recent main charges against him. However since this broke earlier in the year a number of other historic claims resurfaced including evidence of explicit texts / messages to underage / jailbait girls.

Great programme! Shame what happened. Watched all 6 series recently and loved it all over again. Hopefully they bring it back soon!

I watched a few, but it’s the shock and horror humour from Rick and Morty without any of the cleverness.

Just gets repetitive after a while

Been proven not guilty, Im sure he'll be back, James Gunn style. And the wall in Solar Opposites is the only reason to watch it really

Not guilty of that charge, but the list of historic claims that have come out since (including some that had been hidden behind sealed orders) don't make for great reading, especially when you add in the explicit messages, including to some who were still underage at the time is a bit grim.
