80's/90's series about people and their cars?

I've googled this without success, was there a series in the eighties or nineties on TV that looked at people's relationship with their cars?

I seem to remember slightly odd people and lingering camera shots of them next to their beloved (possibly repulsive to the rest of the world) vehicles.

Any ideas?
