24 (the original season don't get excited)
Discussion
Day off and it's chucking it down so I'm discovering what's on Disney Plus.
I remember hearing about something called 24 back when it first aired and paying no attention then I caught it on some sort of 3 episodes back to back repeat on BBC Two (I think).
To say it's over 20 years old it's aged remarkably well

One of the most addictive programs I've ever watched. Back in the day, I literally couldn't stop watching due to the cliff hangers at the end of each episode.
Used to watch many episodes on the run and go to bed at stupid o'clock.
Eventually i realised the best way to watch it is stop after about 10 minutes of the next episode

Ahh - same here. Nights after night of going to bed at 2am mid week! Might have to crack out the old DVDs again!
Were we the only ones to guess what the time would be when did a scene change?

I finished my MBA in March and my present to myself was watching the box set again.
The wife even agreed so we spent about 2 months going through the lot.
I only had the original 6 season box set so bought the full one half way through S5
My favourite series ever. Love Kiefer and love Jack Bauer.
And of course Kim
And I agree on the ageing of it. Except for old mobiles in the early series. It was great to see the technology change as well as things like touch screen and Bluetooth came in.

One night I managed to watch about 10 episodes back to back starting each one at the same time as the clock at the beginning of each episode.
Thus I got a ten minute break each hour
His mobile phone was amazing. Never ran out of juice and always worked, even in a cave or way out in a desert.
He always managed to travel at an amazing speed from place to place considering it was real time and when did he use the loo
Great series though, I loved it.

I think the second series was about the best.
They'd worked out what they'd got and developed it extremely well.
After that, a bit hit and miss.
I forget which season it was but the production coincided with a Writers strike. In Hollywood. Fox threatened to pull the series if they didn't provide the season as per the agreed schedule. Sutherland and a few others including some of the filming crew ended up writing it as they went. Literally penning something then filming it. There's one scene when they're in an office in the CTU HQ and you see on the wall a load of post it notes and scribbles. They are actually plot lines and lines of dialogue that they forgot to remove!! They'd worked out what they'd got and developed it extremely well.

There's a fascinating article with Sutherland and the Director on this. I'll try and find it and link it. They said that they had started with a degree of anger at the writers for striking but ended the process with huge respect and support for their cause.

tty saxaphone ring too - lucky they didn't play that one in 24 as it would have killed that show stone dead.
