Getting rid of TV service dilemma
Discussion
I'm sure there are a few people in the same boat (and I'm sure it's been discussed before!), but I'm finding myself in a bit of a dilemma with getting rid of my TV package and going broadband only. I currently have a (very expensive) Virgin package, and I barely use any of it...
What I need is:
Am I making this more complicated than it is in my head? Is there a solution for watching a few things live and on demand without a TV subscription?
What I need is:
- Ability to watch and record BSB, WSBK and MotoGP. I like pausing live TV and the ability to record so I can watch the races later if needed, without waiting for them to be available (i.e. sometimes I'll only be 30 minutes behind). This is on Eurosport, Quest and TNT sports at the moment. There are also some series on BBC and Channel 4 that I'd like to keep watching, i.e. Strictly, Bake Off, etc.
- Good internet speeds for streaming and WFH (multiple devices).

I have almost the exact same requirements and have a MotoGP Video Pass subscription, and Discovery+ subscription for BSB/Wsbk.
The only 'issue' is that I watch both on my laptop. I tried streaming both on my Smart TV but was cack. This is probably due to the TV being quite old I guess. Its not that bad as I struggle to monopolise the TV with my 7yr old daughter around anyway!
We have a Netflix sub, and the Mrs and I watch stuff on I-player, ITV-X, More4 etc. We came from a Virgin sub with BT Sport previously. No Virgin in current house which forced the change.
Instead of Video Pass I could get TNT through Discovery+ now.

Your problem is solved by getting Discovery + with TNT Sports premium, it will do everything you want.
You either need a smart TV or a firestick or similar to run the app and watch all the other BBC/ITV content through their respective players, or you could do it through your xbox if it supports the apps.
I wouldn't bother with IPTV, the providers aren't reliable in my experience, buffering is an issue at times also.
