My first thought was to be a bit concerned about the choice of title for the Channel 4 programme but I do appreciate that they needed something that was eye-catching. There's no suggestion that Pete Doherty committed murder.

Anyway, the subject was Mark Blanco who in 2006 fell to his death from the balcony at an East London flat where Pete Doherty was also present at the time. Other people were as well and that's not disputed. The mystery is why he fell. Part of the story is also the alleged lack of enthusiasm from the police to treat the situation as a potential murder and whether one of the people allegedly involved was a police informant. I've no real view either way but I feel really sorry for Mark Blanco's mother who does her best to keep the story live. It must be absolute torture for her.

Does seem a bit suspect that he was not the first to fall to his death from that balcony.

IIRC they said during the programme he (P.C) fell from the roof after going out on it for a smoke & not the balcony. It was pretty grim seeing the footage of the chap being thrown over the balcony & then the others just come running out, whilst stepping over his dead body. Why you'd want to associate with such a group of scumbags I don't know.

At the risk of sounding like and old fuddy-duddy, it's drugs I guess. I wonder what % of all the things we see in the news and think "How the hell can anyone be so horrible as to do that?" are down to drugs?

TBH the thought of dealing or associating with any of them is nauseating.
Rock star life though, eh?

The case has been reopened as part of the victims' redress scheme, this time with City of London police investigating instead of the Met.

You always get the feeling that in these cases " getting Justice " " Finding The Truth " is never resolved until the findings finally agree with what the family have always thought happened.

Same with the Mull of Kintyre crash, which is again in the news, no doubt taxpayers will stump up for another inquiry.

In the case of the Mull of Kintyre crash a proper inquiry was badly needed. That Chinook, in fact all Chinook HC2s at the time, were simply not airworthy.

'City of London Police' - right, I'm sure everything will be above board from that crowd.
