It's a hard no from me.

"The four-episode series pits some of the finest modern classic cars against each other in a 'Battle of the Bangers' to decide which is the best in class".

I'm guessing this is aimed at those who see anything more than 5 years old that they can't PCP as a "banger".

If that is Honda UK's car then that's an extraordinarily rare pre-production prototype.

I'm hoping it's not - they have absolutely no luck with NSXs

Just seen a promo for that, it’ll be a no from me too. And I know it’s been done, but “F1’s Naomi Schiff”? Do me a favour, Chinese Clio Cup’s Naomi Schiff you mean.

They don't seem to mention that only three drivers in Group A (The group "F1s Naomi Schiff" competed in) competed in every round.

Kenneth Ma is the only one of the three other than Ms Schiff who seems to warrant his own Wikipedia Page. In two years of racing TCR international he competed in 4 races with 2 DNQs, 1 DNS and had 1 Retirement.

Back to the show, think I will give it a miss.

I can’t fathom who it’s aimed at?

I know this is a very old fart thing to say but: it seems like another telly program about cars that isn't made for people who like cars.

Every so often one of these comes up on ITV2/4, BBC Three, E4 and it's like their pitch to commissioners 'is a car program aimed at the 16-30 bracket who want to have fun, they aren't geeky about cars but they want to look cool.'

I’m so glad that numerous old white men can be so dismissive of this programme without actually watching it.

I wonder why that is?

I watched the first 15 minutes, pure crap so far.

Thinking to myself they are taking a dig at the espace, but it was an important car. It's the only one I would call a family car.

Edit. I got to the modding the espace section. I couldn't take it anymore, switched off.

I think a banger means something slightly different to tiny, I think it means it’s good in fact I’m sure it does , so a play on words then , he is trying hard and Ian wright has been on ! It is pretty rubbish but I am enjoying all the Old Ford’s , and that Volvo is cool .

Well, that was utterly meh.

Literally not a single original second in the whole hour. All the same cars, all the same challenges, the crowbarred in eBay plugs that made it feel like a YouTube video.

I'd be gutted if an NSX died for this nonsense.

I was channel hopping, and switched over just as this was away to come on.

Saw the NSX going into the tyres, and switched over. Hopped back on a few times, just to see what they were driving, but doubt I'll make any effort to catch the rest of the series.

What an absolute load of tosh. It flitted about as if they didn't know what they wanted to do. The interview with Ian Wright was uncomfortable, Tinie clearly out of his depth (he also doesn't know the difference between phenomena and phenomenon, a pedantic pet hate of mine). What do they call bangers? Those cars looked pristine to me. Do I need to learn street talk now? I'll tackle the elephant in the room, which must have occurred to other people. We have black and Asian people all over our screens and rightly so, but in a country in which 4% of people are black, the fact that among so many people, there was only one token white person (Tom Kerridge according to the trailer), smacks of a programme trying too hard to make a point. I didn't see the whole programme and it may have changed later on, but what I saw was in your face and frankly, was a distraction. I hope that doesn't make me seem like a racist because I don't believe I am, but it was too obvious not to mention.
Having owned over 70 cars, I welcome any car show, the more the better, but I don't hold out much hope for this one.

I actually got in touch with them in April as they made a lot of posts online looking for ”bangers”. Thank goodness they never got back to me! I may have not been the right fit when I said I wouldn’t modify my base model 205 - I imagine they were expecting “I want a fat subwoofer m8”. If you find their forum posts from back then, the fate of the show was sealed before filming.
